Founder of "A Touch of Science"
Jo Flores
Jo Flores has been a science educator in the Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside
and San Bernadino Counties since 1989. She has developed curriculum and taught in private schools, given presentations for home school networks, and has worked through many City Parks and Recreation Departments to bring science to summer programs.
A pre-Vet major, Flores graduated from Cal Poly Pomona with a degree in Zoology, Cum Laude in 1988.
As a third-generation teacher, working with kids and teaching is in her blood. Instructing children about
the miracles of Nature is her passion. “These are the people who are going to be making the decisions about the future of our planet, "
Flores said. "Many of them have no personal experiences with the natural environment, such as touching a snake or seeing a live frog.
Discovery Channel is their only encounter with wildlife!
I want them to see it, feel it, to care about it and to know that
they will make the difference.”
