EXPERIENCE "A Touch of Science"

Educating children is paramount. Science education is imperative. In today’s fast-paced technological society, it is necessary to nurture our children’s inherent wonder and curiosity about the natural world through science education. “A Touch of Science” is a program that provides students an opportunity to explore their world without getting on a bus! This program’s hands-on format allows:

Universal Access addressing the needs of all students. (advanced, special needs, E.S.L.).

Meeting of State Standards Criteria Categories I through V of the Science Framework for California Public Schools.

Content to be presented in an interesting and engaging way to students, giving them the ability to gain knowledge through observation and inquiry.

Teachers to follow up with Instructional Planning and Support materials which are provided to explain concepts and principles, provide resources, and make suggestions for activities, readings and multimedia.

“Numerous reports have been published calling for reform in education. Each report has highlighted the importance of early experiences in science so that students develop problem-solving skills that empower them to participate in an increasingly scientific and technological world. Students value science best when a variety of presentation modes are used to accommodate different learning styles and students are given opportunities to interact and share ideas with peers.” National Science Teachers Association (NSTA) Position Statement adopted July 2002.

“We know that by the time students enter 7th Grade, more than half say they are not interested in science. Our challenge is to teach science in a way that students can’t lose interest” Dr. Gerald Wheeler, NSTA.

This is it!
